During inclement weather, the college may call for one of several actions: Closed, Delayed Start, or Virtual.

When the college is Closed no one should be coming to campus since it may be considered dangerous; sidewalks and parking lots are unlikely to be may cleared of ice and there may not be heat (or electricity). In addition, there is no expectation that students or faculty would hold classes online, since there may be significant power outages that prevent effective communication.

When a Delayed Start is called, people should report to their respective campuses to begin work or conduct class at the designated time. Online courses proceed as normal with no delay in synchronous online start times. Faculty teaching synchronous online should communicate expectations to their students using their communication method of choice.

When a Virtual Day is called all college operations take place virtually - It is now a standard expectation that faculty will have built into each course the capacity for shifting to online learning and has communicated and perhaps even practiced using those chosen modalities with their students. Students should contact their instructors with questions about moving to online instruction due to inclement weather or other disruptions that may require classes to move online.
