National Library Week Logo - There's More to the Story

It's National Library Week!   During 2022-2023, the theme is "there's more to the story."  Let's explore how much more happens within our library at Big Sandy than our community realizes.

Did you know?  During 2022-2023, Big Sandy's academic library:

  • served over 400 cups of coffee at the Pikeville campus

  • coordinated over 75,000 searches in our online databases and delivered over 21,000 full text documents

  • distributed over 60 Nest pantry bags at the Mayo campus

  • checked out over 600 books, multimedia, computers, and other devices at all campuses

  • hosted over 300 students at student-activity events, such as poetry creations and readings, at the Prestonsburg campus

  • taught more than 60 student course sessions at all campuses, helping over 900 students, regarding everything from writing resumes to how to find a scholarly article on Ethan Frome

Librarians are available for a variety of student events.  Celebrate your library during this National Library Week.   We appreciate you.
