Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Skills

This brief tutorial guide leads you to ways to brush up on your computer skills. It is useful for new students or students who may need some basic skills training.

Free 365

All enrolled students at BSCTC have free access to MS Office 365.

Online Office

MyPath us[an image of a OneDrive tile on MyPath]ers have access to OneDrive, a storage location which is accessible from any internet connection.  Students are encouraged to save their work on OneDrive as a way to keep all files accessible from any location.

Downloading Office

  1.  Log into MyPath on the device where you want to download MS Office apps.

  2. Go to https://portal.office.com/account

  3. You can either install Office to your downloads folder by selecting Install Office, and you can look at the devices where you've previously installed it.

Reminder that free authorization isn't forever.   You don't get it forever.   Occasionally you will have to prove that you're still enrolled, including logging into your KCTCS account from Office, about every 90 days to keep your Office license active.
I still can't get logged in! -  Check any home edition or trial versions, to make sure you're not logged in as your personal e-mail (bobsmother@gmail.com instead of agideon0001@kctcs.edu, for example).  MS Office works well on Windows and the worst on Chromebooks or iPads, where features may be locked out.  You can reach out to the library or IT to check any other issues.
