Request Library Materials

This form asks for the title from another library, through a process called Interlibrary Loan.  This request is free to Big Sandy community patrons, students, faculty, and staff.  You must return physical material to Big Sandy and we will return it to the other library.

When do I return the title?

Return dates are set by the other library (typically 4-6 weeks).   They are written on the title.

What about returning articles?

If you receive an article in PDF format, you can print and you don't return it.

Can I borrow audiovisual material?

Yes.  Simply indicate that you want a DVD or another media type.

Can I borrow my textbook for my class?

No, because due dates are set at less than the entire run of your class.   

This form asks for a purchase by our library. This request is free to Big Sandy community patrons, students, faculty, and staff.  Purchased materials will be stored in the Big Sandy library.

Sure, please indicate in your request that you'd like to check it out.

What if we have a copy of the title, but it's missing?

You can request an interlibrary loan or we can repurchase the title.

Can I order a database subscription?

Databases are very expensive, so we'd love to know your needs and identify how to meet them.
